Our loyal band of volunteers have been busy completing many tasks ahead of the pitch being dug up.
Jobs completed so far include:
Removal of the six foot concrete fence behind the Bowling Green End goal for reuse elsewhere
Removal of the wooden fence adjacent to the Bowling Green for re use elsewhere
Removal of 22 trees at the Bowling Green End and replacing the same number in a contained planting exercise, as requested by Birmingham City Council
Removal of all eight floodlight pylons ready for new concrete bases to accommodate the new pitch levels
Digging and installing the new bases on the main stand side of the ground
Removal of the grass on the picnic area near to the tunnel, ready for the area to be resurfaced.
Removal of concrete terracing ready for the extension to the main stand.
Installation of the steel framework for the main stand extension
Removal of the old stand fascia ready for new signage.
Adjustment to the terracing to create more space in front of the supporters' toilets.
There have been many volunteers helping their club, especially parents from our junior section, but special thanks go to Mark Imms, whose knowledge, skills and commitment have been invaluable to the club and have allowed so many essential tasks to be completed so quickly.
Our Under 10s may never be seen again!
